I got this idea from a needlepoint pattern in South African Talking Threads magazine No 13 for a Kitchen Prayer and decided to try and make the tiny little pictures with pixels.
Materials Needed
(it can probably be done with ease using earlier versions of PSP)
A couple of little pixel drawings.
My suggestion is this, make a few of your own pixel paintings or use some that you have already done. I hope you will have a lot of fun trying this out and finding another use for your collection of pixel drawings. There are a number of mini pixel tutorials available - you can do a Google search and you will be sure to find quite a lot.
Always remember to save your work often
LETS BEGIN
First type the prayer into an e-mail, or you can use word pad or note pad or whatever you are comfortable with.
Open a New canvas 249 x 285
Select the text tool and Freehand font591 or a font of your choice.
Size 12 - Fill Colour dark blue #000080 - Floating - Anti-alias checked - Left side margin.
I copied the text from my e-mail and pasted it into the text block in PSP
Add a new layer
Move it to the bottom of your layers pallete.
Flood fill the new bottom layer with a pretty pale shade of blue #C2E8FE
Apply Effects / Texture Effects / Weave
With the following settings -
Gap and Width 1 - Opacity 100 - Weave colour white - Fill Gap Unchecked.
BORDER
Add a new layer
Selections / Select All / Modify / Contract x 8 / Selections / Invert
Flood fill with your dark blue #000080
~~~Keep selected~~~
Selections / Modify / Contract x 3 / Apply same Effects / Texture Effects / Weave as before.
Select None
DECORATING
Open your pixel drawings and copy and paste as new layers onto your canvas, and place them with the mover tool until you are happy with the way it looks.
Merge your layers and save.
I saved mine as a .gif as it was a clearer image.
Remember to add your watermark
and you are done
I hope that you enjoyed doing it as much as I enjoyed creating it. I would really appreciate your feedback and seeing your finished result. Please send it to me.
Thank you!
You can click on these pixel paintings below and find the tutorial links that I did them from.
The tiny ones are so easy, they really only take a few minutes to make. Some of the links may now be out of date.....sorry can't help that :(
